Dr. Ronald (Ron) Sills is the Founding Director of the XTL & DME Institute, a consulting and educational company (www.XTLInstitute.com). His broad technical and commercial expertise with dimethyl ether (DME) was gained from his extensive involvement, over the past 3 decades, in the  both industry commercialization activities, particularly a BP/Amoco DME project, and the International DME Association, of which he is an honorary member. Ron has written a number of papers on DME, is a frequent speaker on the subject at international conferences, and has led many pre-IDA DME conference workshops. In 2022, he authored a major white paper for the World LPG Association on how renewable DME can help defossilize the LPG industry.

Dr. Sills holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Chemical Engineering from MIT and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University.
